DescriptionTG(14:0/15:1(9Z)/16:0) is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). TG(14:0/15:1(9Z)/16:0) may be a unique S. cerevisiae (yeast) metabolite. Within yeast, TG(14:0/15:1(9Z)/16:0) participates in a number of enzymatic reactions. In particular, TG(14:0/15:1(9Z)/16:0) can be biosynthesized from DG(14:0/15:1(9Z)/0:0); which is mediated by the enzyme diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 1. In addition, TG(14:0/15:1(9Z)/16:0) can be converted into DG(14:0/15:1(9Z)/0:0) through the action of the enzyme triacylglycerol lipase complex. In yeast, TG(14:0/15:1(9Z)/16:0) is involved in the metabolic pathway called the triacylglycerol metabolism tg(14:0/15:1(9z)/16:0) pathway.
