These lipids contain a common glycerophosphate skeleton linked to at least one fatty acyl chain and a glycero-3-phosphate moiety. As is the case with diacylglycerols, phosphatidylglycerophosphates can have many different combinations of fatty acids of varying lengths and saturation attached to the C-1 and C-2 positions. PGP(22:1(9Z)/26:0), in particular, consists of one 9Z-docosenoyl chain to the C-1 atom, and one hexacosanoyl to the C-2 atom. In E. coli, PGPs can be found in the cytoplasmic membrane. The are synthesized by the addition of glycerol 3-phosphate to a CDP-diacylglycerol. In turn, PGPs are dephosphorylated to Phosphatidylglycerols (PGs) by the enzyme Phosphatidylglycerophosphatase.","experimental_water_solubility":null,"experimental_logp_hydrophobicity":null,"location":"Mitochondrion membrane","synthesis_reference":null,"chebi_id":null,"hmdb_id":null,"kegg_id":null,"pubchem_id":null,"cs_id":null,"foodb_id":null,"wikipedia_link":null,"biocyc_id":null,"iupac":"[(2S)-3-({[(2R)-3-[(9Z)-docos-9-enoyloxy]-2-(hexacosanoyloxy)propoxy](hydroxy)phosphoryl}oxy)-2-hydroxypropoxy]phosphonic acid","traditional_iupac":"(2S)-3-{[(2R)-3-[(9Z)-docos-9-enoyloxy]-2-(hexacosanoyloxy)propoxy(hydroxy)phosphoryl]oxy}-2-hydroxypropoxyphosphonic acid","logp":"17.564662471333335","pka":"2.0402061436989327","alogps_solubility":"1.89e-04 g/l","alogps_logp":"9.14","alogps_logs":"-6.73","acceptor_count":"8","donor_count":"4","rotatable_bond_count":"57","polar_surface_area":"195.34999999999997","refractivity":"280.9144","polarizability":"125.26322332915208","formal_charge":"0","physiological_charge":"-3","pka_strongest_basic":"-3.410499386302644","pka_strongest_acidic":"1.354879296415124","bioavailability":"0","number_of_rings":"0","rule_of_five":"0","ghose_filter":"0","veber_rule":"0","mddr_like_rule":"0","synonyms":[],"pathways":[],"growth_conditions":[],"references":[{"pubmed_id":240350,"citation":"Rattray JB, Schibeci A, Kidby DK.
