It is a glycerophospholipid in which a phosphate moiety occupies a glycerol substitution site. Lysophosphatidic acids can have different combinations of fatty acids of varying lengths and saturation attached at the C-1 (sn-1) or C-2 (sn-2) position. Fatty acids containing 16 and 18 carbons are the most common. Lysophosphatidic acid is the simplest possible glycerophospholipid. It is the biosynthetic precursor of phosphatidic acid.","experimental_water_solubility":null,"experimental_logp_hydrophobicity":null,"location":"Cytoplasm;Endoplasmic reticulum;Mitochondrion membrane","synthesis_reference":null,"chebi_id":null,"hmdb_id":null,"kegg_id":null,"pubchem_id":null,"cs_id":null,"foodb_id":null,"wikipedia_link":null,"biocyc_id":null,"iupac":"[(2R)-3-[(9Z)-hexadec-9-enoyloxy]-2-hydroxypropoxy]phosphonic acid","traditional_iupac":"(2R)-3-[(9Z)-hexadec-9-enoyloxy]-2-hydroxypropoxyphosphonic acid","logp":"4.5965521916666665","pka":"6.531115837556447","alogps_solubility":"4.15e-03 g/l","alogps_logp":"3.74","alogps_logs":"-4.99","acceptor_count":"5","donor_count":"3","rotatable_bond_count":"19","polar_surface_area":"113.29000000000002","refractivity":"106.09699999999997","polarizability":"45.69680925237235","formal_charge":"0","physiological_charge":"-2","pka_strongest_basic":"-3.4039997949880556","pka_strongest_acidic":"1.505317785248875","bioavailability":"1","number_of_rings":"0","rule_of_five":"1","ghose_filter":"1","veber_rule":"0","mddr_like_rule":"0","synonyms":["1-(9Z-Hexadecenoyl)-glycero-3-phosphate","1-(9Z-Hexadecenoyl)-glycero-3-phosphoric acid","1-(9Z)-Hexadecenoyl-sn-glycerol 3-phosphate","1-(9Z)-Hexadecenoyl-sn-glycerol 3-phosphoric acid","LPA(16:1(9Z)/0:0)"],"pathways":[],"growth_conditions":[],"references":[{"pubmed_id":19174513,"citation":"Ejsing, C.
