DescriptionDG(15:0/20:0/0:0) is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). DG(15:0/20:0/0:0) may be a unique S. cerevisiae (yeast) metabolite. Within yeast, DG(15:0/20:0/0:0) participates in a number of enzymatic reactions. In particular, DG(15:0/20:0/0:0) can be biosynthesized from PA(15:0/15:0); which is catalyzed by the enzyme phosphatidic acid phosphohydrolase 1. In addition, DG(15:0/20:0/0:0) and cytidine triphosphate can be converted into PA(15:0/15:0) and CDP; which is catalyzed by the enzyme CTP-dependent diacylglycerol kinase 1. In yeast, DG(15:0/20:0/0:0) is involved in the metabolic pathway called the triacylglycerol metabolism tg(15:0/15:0/20:0) pathway.
